On Friday, youth at the Rose of Sharon Orphanage in Harare, Zimbabwe, whose young lives are not often punctuated by moments of joy, were surprised by a very special delivery.

Forty-five new bicycles arrived on the campus, donated to help provide a reliable means of transportation and, in the process, help improve the quality of their lives.

More than 10,200 miles away, members of the nonprofit Bikes 4 Orphans anxiously awaited confirmation of receipt, imagining the children’s reactions when they learned the bikes would be theirs.

Successful Zimbabwe Delivery

We did it! Thank you all for your wonderful support! We are very excited to report that we have successfully delivered 45 bicycles to the Rose of Sharon Orphanage in Zimbabwe. Thanks to World

Bicycle Relief for helping us with the delivery and a special thanks to Serving Orphans Worldwide for putting us in touch with Fatima Maruta, the director of the orphanage. These bicycles will change 45 lives for the better and we are all able to do that from thousands of miles away. 

Additionally, this is the single largest delivery to one location we have done so far. We are so thrilled and proud of our community.
